Mrs. SAM and I were wondering about a new boss, and how they might meet our needs. That is, of course, all that matters. Over a couple of glasses of wine we wondered about qualifying criteria and what they may indicate about our future.
The first question that arose, of course, was….. Star Wars or Star Trek.? If they’ve seen both, people generally come down one side of this question or the other. Hopeful, yet annoying? Or, logical and thought provoking? Or, something like that. There are few people who like both.
And from there, it was off to the races. To the annoyance of the solo diner next to us, we boisterously started our list. Given that the internet knows all, I’m sure this has been covered in the ether somewhere, but, as you know, I’m too lazy to be bothered with research and I’m trying to minimize my time with click bait and Cosmo quizzes. I’m also sure this is incorporated in Google’s hiring practices somewhere, too.
So, peruse the list below. An answer to these, I think, says a lot about a person. Which side do you come down on?
- John Lennon or Paul McCartney?
- Beer or Wine?
- Still water or Sparkling?
- Beach or Mountains?
- Cat or Dog?
- Coffee or Tea?
- Window seat or Aisle seat?
- Cash or Credit?
- Cake or Pie?
- PC or Mac?
- Apple or Android?
- Football or Football?
- Chocolate or Vanilla?
- Summer or Winter?
- Brownie edges or Brownie middles?
We wondered if there were other cultural stratifiers? Like crispy Knafeh or soft Knafeh in Jordan? Mango sticky rice or Coconut ice cream in Thailand? I have no idea if these are things, but I’m curious. I wonder about New Zealand. What differences are present down under?
And so, I’ll ask you friends and readers around the world, what sort of question could help you pigeonhole someone where you live? What could help tell you something about the person you’re talking to? Enter them in the comments below. Let’s compile something together. I’ll ask you to avoid the political. I’m just not sure it’s worth it.
