Red Owl traded in a market in Jakarta, Indonesia on June 16, 2012. Red Owl or Otus rufescens, trade in the market in Jakarta. Otus rufescens had deployment in peninsular Thailand, Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Kalimantan, Sumatra and Java, Indonesia. It seems to be generally rare throughout its range but is reported to be locally common in some areas, assumed to be taking place owing to the extensive loss of forest in the region.
